Statement on the migrant and mass deportation situation in the United States of America.
Here at CanCDMX, we are appalled by the disgusting and illegal actions of the American Government, the ICE agency, and Mr. Trump. The illegal detention of migrants, the infringement of basic human rights, the infringement of the American Constitution, the separation of children from their families and the detention of minors, and the deportation of innocents to Salvadoran prisons and camps are absolutely unacceptable. The breaching of court hearings for migrants attempting to legalize themselves represents a profound betrayal of justice.
In Canada and Mexico, we support basic human rights and the unity of families through difficult times. We understand that there is a migratory process, but we also fundamentally understand that everyone, no matter where they are from, is seeking a better life for their families and themselves.
These are not "invaders, rapists, criminals, and terrorists," as Mr. Trump and his administration have despicably described them. These are human beings who are trying to work and provide for their families. They are mothers and fathers, children, students, taxpayers, veterans, field, factory and construcion workers, active community members who are not "stealing American jobs" but contributing to american employment. The propaganda used by Mr. Trump and his administration is a contemptible scare tactic designed to manipulate public opinion.
Basic human rights are not negotiable and are to be followed.

A short statement on Canadian, Mexican and European friendship and collaboration
Our shared history with Canada, Mexico, and our European allies is rich with collaboration, cultural exchange, and mutual support. We've stood shoulder to shoulder through triumphs and challenges, building bonds that transcend political shifts.
Now, more than ever, it's time to reaffirm those connections. Let's celebrate the ingenuity and craftsmanship of our neighbors and friends. By choosing "Made in Canada," "Hecho en Mexico," and "Made in EU," we're not just supporting local businesses; we're investing in the shared prosperity and well-being of our interconnected communities.
We're demonstrating that unity, not division, is the path forward. Let's strengthen the ties that bind us and build an even brighter future together.
